If you were like most of us, your parents taught you not to fight in public.
When a divorce happens, we usually end up breaking that rule.
When you and your partner finally decide to separate for good, the law requires you to make it public by filing divorce papers. Sometimes (depending on who you are), the divorce can be more public than your marriage was private.
Most of the time the process is messy and painful. Not just for the couple, but for the children too. Legal proceedings can be a huge source of stress and tension for everyone. That’s why it’s so important that you have a support system. A place where there are other Women who’ve “been there, done that.” Or who are in the same boat and not just for solace. We are here for you to find good advice and connect with the resources you need to get through the bad stuff and take the journey to the other side.
I know. I’ve been there, too.
My journey began 22 years ago when I married a man that became very successful over the course of our marriage. Yet, little did I know he was keeping me in the dark of how he got to be so successful. Â There is a saying,” The wife is the last to know”. We had what I thought was a good marriage, a wonderful life together, 2 beautiful daughters, and then it all started to change. And wouldn’t you know, he left me.
I’ve always been one to adapt, but this turn of events threw me off just a bit. I had 2 daughters to raise, a life to continue, a house to take care of, bills to pay. I had to find ideas for coping — and one way that worked for me was connecting with other single moms, to hear their ideas, find resources to manage everyday life. It was a difficult journey!
My name is Carrie L. Katz
I’ve been a Single Mom now for 11 Years. I was lucky enough to find my Prince Charming 7 years ago and take that leap of faith to get married again.
So you might say, “Then why do you still call yourself a Single Mom?” My children’s father left when they were 7 and 5 years of age. They are now 19 and almost 17. I have raised them without their biological father being involved in their life.
By connecting to so many vendors that have helped me move forward with my life, I am forever thankful and that’s why I’m “Today’s Single Mom!” That’s my “Happy Ending.”
